Mixed media Abstract realism 'From selfie to art'

Layers in painting and life!

With this series Angelika wants to show to you the beauty of layers, not only in the process of painting but also the importance of layers in life. Her thoughts about selfies on social media and the related superficiality, where the harts and inner of people seems to be less important, is why she wants to express herself through her work From selfie to art.

The selfie or other body part, appears or disappears behind and in the layers of paint. All shapes are mixed together. The transparency and the bright colors become even brighter by the sublime print on luxurious plexiglass.

It all beginns with painting, where Angelika paints with large and fast brush strokes combined with the transparency of glasspaint. She starts her work on a mirrow, shooting a selfie during the proces through the layer of paint. It is a physical process in which everything is working together.

 

 

 

Abstract with realism

Abstract realism is an Art form that is a marriage of two contradictory concepts. Abstract art and Realistic art. Abstract art exists through patterns, colors, texture and line without the need for recognizeable images. Realistic art consists of art that aims to replicate reality such as Photography. When these two elements combine to create an abstract impression of real life, you get abstract realism.

    Inspiration Art with the lighting of Ilfari

    I am delighted to tell you about my new collaboration with the beautiful lighting inspiration centre Ilfari in Beek en Donk.

    We met in June 2024 at the Art of Living in Rosmalen. I got inspired by their collection of fixtures and we had a nice conversation about ideas to integrate my art with their lighting. I was always inspired by lamps and I already had painted an abstract piece before.
    So I was eager to start with new paintings which are now shown in their exclusive space. You can find also sculptures and wall sculptures from my hand. All of the artworks remain available for art lovers.
